Chanel has announced that it is to close 2 boutiques out of a total of 39 in Japan after a strategic decision to rationalise its network in weakening markets, notably Asia and the US. One outlet is based on Osaka and the other on the island of Kyushu where the inflow of customers seeking luxury products has declined.
